Louise Millear – Accredited Exercise Physiologist
Background
Louise is an ESSA Accredited Exercise Physiologist who began with Health In Balance as a university placement student in 2023, before joining the team full time at the conclusion of her studies. Louise brings the most up-to-date clinical knowledge and expertise to the clinic, and enjoys the challenge of working closely with clients to problem solve and assist with the management of their presenting chronic conditions.
Louise hopes to continually empower clients to create lifelong healthy habits and promote longevity of health, independence, and overall wellbeing through education, ongoing support, and appropriate exercise programming.
Education
Louise graduated from Deakin University Waurn Ponds with a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science, before moving to Melbourne to complete a Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology degree at Deakin University Burwood. Louise also holds current First Aid/CPR certificates.
Key Interests
Louise’s key clinical areas of interest include musculoskeletal rehabilitation, particularly regaining function post-joint replacements and improving bone health, as well as balance re-training and improving overall cardio-metabolic health (including diabetes management).
Outside of the clinic, Louise loves spending time back home on her family farm and going on runs with friends.

Cody Millsteed – Accredited Exercise Physiologist
Background
Cody is an ESSA Accredited Exercise Physiologist. Before starting at Health in Balance in 2024, Cody gained experience as an Exercise Physiologist across various settings, including The Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre in Kew where she worked with patients recovering from a recent spinal cord injury. She also gained valuable experience at various private practice clinics across Victoria, including Deakin University’s Clinical Exercise Centre. While studying Cody also gained experiencing working at Alfred health, delivering group exercise classes as part of Caulfield Hospital’s Community Rehabilitation program.
Education
Cody graduated from Deakin University with a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science in 2022, followed by a Master’s degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology. Cody holds current First Aid/CPR certificates.
Key Interests
Cody’s key interests include rehabilitation of neurological conditions and injuries, management of persistent pain, improving fitness of those with cardiovascular conditions, and physical activity promotion.
In her spare time, Cody enjoys going for runs on the different trails around Melbourne, heading to the footy to watch the Collingwood Magpies have a win, or heading back home to the Murray river to visit family.

Thomas Vogel – Accredited Exercise Physiologist
Background
Thomas is an ESSA Accredited Exercise Physiologist. Before starting at Health in Balance in 2017, Thomas gained experience as an Exercise Physiologist in multiple private practice and hospital settings around Melbourne, including Epworth Richmond and the Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute.
Thomas has a keen interest in helping everyone improve their metabolic health with a focus on not only exercise, but also sleep, stress management, and nutrition. This extends to helping his clients to manage their diabetes, weight, and heart health, through behaviour change counselling and lifestyle intervention.
Education
Thomas graduated from Deakin University with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science, before going on to complete a Master’s degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology, also at Deakin University. Thomas holds current First Aid/CPR certificates.
Key Interests
Metabolic health management (including weight loss and type 2 diabetes), persistent pain, mental health, chronic illness management, rehabilitation for musculoskeletal injuries, falls prevention and balance retraining.
On weekends you can find Thomas cycling the streets of Melbourne or reading his way through his growing bookshelf.
Dylan Hadfield – Accredited Exercise Physiologist
Background
Dylan is an ESSA Accredited Exercise Physiologist. Prior to starting with Health in Balance in 2015, Dylan’s experience came through a variety of settings and workplaces including Peninsula Health Service, Monash Health Service, Deakin University’s Clinical Exercise Learning Centre and numerous local Exercise Physiology practices. Dylan’s experience has enabled him to develop a strong, up-to-date, and relevant skill set in musculoskeletal rehabilitation, cancer rehabilitation as well as falls prevention and balance re-training.
Education
Dylan completed his undergraduate studies with a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science, closely followed by completion of a Masters in Clinical Exercise Physiology at Deakin University. Dylan holds current Senior First Aid/CPR certificates.
Key Interests
Cancer rehabilitation, respiratory health, pre- and post-surgery rehabilitation, sports specific conditioning, chronic illness management, rehabilitation for musculoskeletal injuries, falls prevention and balance retraining.
In his spare time you’ll find Dylan on the cricket field, in the gym or taking day trips around Victoria sampling the food and drink.

Edouard Kayayan – Accredited Exercise Physiologist
Background
Edouard is an ESSA Accredited Exercise Physiologist. Prior to opening Health in Balance with Daniel Cornish in 2011, Edouard spent his early years at Australian Unity retirement living, Alfred Health, (Caulfield General Medical Centre; and Community Rehabilitation), Victoria University, YMCA and numerous Aged Care facilities in Victoria. Edouard has over the years grown fond of utilising his skills as an Exercise Physiologist to illicit long term and meaningful behaviour change in those with mental ill-health, and so he is currently spending most of his time at Monash University's BrainPark, the worlds first neuroscience research clinic to integrate neuroimaging, technology and lifestyle interventions to create healthy habits, brains and overall well being.
Education
Edouard completed his undergraduate studies with a double degree in Exercise Science and Sports Administration, before graduating with a Masters in Applied Science (Exercise Rehabilitation) at Victoria University. He also holds a current Senior First Aid/CPR certificates.
Key Interests
Vestibular retraining, neuromuscular rehabilitation, mental and cognitive health and well-being, chronic illness management, rehabilitation for musculoskeletal injuries, falls prevention and balance retraining.
When he’s not busy with work, you can find Ed going for runs around Duncan McKinnon, cooking incredible Armenian cuisine and getting active with his two little men!
Daniel Cornish – Accredited Exercise Physiologist (Online / Telehealth)
Background
Daniel is an ESSA Accredited Exercise Physiologist. Prior to opening Health in Balance with Edouard Kayayan in 2011, Daniel gained experience in a variety of settings, including Alfred Health, Deakin University, and multiple physiotherapy and exercise physiology practices in inner South East Melbourne. Since 2006, Daniel has built a strong grounding in using exercise as medicine for a wide variety of medical conditions. He prides himself in helping clients better understand their health conditions, and in prescribing programs that are realistic, that people actually stick to.
Education
Graduating from Deakin University with a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science, Daniel went on to complete his Graduate Diploma in Applied Exercise Science (Exercise Prescription) at Australian Catholic University. Daniel holds current Senior First Aid/CPR certificates.
Key Interests
Chronic pain, fatigue, lifestyle counselling for those struggling with motivation, chronic illness management, rehabilitation for musculoskeletal injuries, falls prevention and balance retraining.
In his spare time, you’ll find Dan hiking a trail, rock climbing a vertical or overhung cliff face, or reading a book by the ocean at the back of his campervan.
